Our Name
Our name was adopted from a sailboat I sailed on when I was a teenager. Built by a company called MetalMast, the boat was 30 feet long and was based in Erie, PA. There were very few boats like it in the world, but it was well crafted, and it was designed to convert wind very efficiently into forward motion, in other words it was fast. Sailing wasn’t something I took too quickly, but after some time I began to truly appreciate the experience and I ultimately became impassioned.
And let’s not forget that sly fox the animal is loyal, clever, and very passionate about protecting his or her family. As our official mascot, sly fox the animal exemplifies what it means to be a SlyFoxian. Both SlyFox the boat and sly fox the animal aligned with our company objectives and so it was that SlyFox the company was born. – Dave Walker
How We Give Back
Penn State Four Diamonds was created in 1972 after Charles and Irma Millard lost their 14-year-old son, Christopher, to cancer. Four Diamonds’ mission is to conquer childhood cancer by assisting children treated at Penn State Children’s Hospital and their families through superior care, comprehensive support, and innovative research.
St. Jude is leading the way the world understands, treats, and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
Supports veterans and service members who incurred a physical or mental injury, illness, or wound while serving in the military.
